BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Jerome Cann has more than 20 years of hardware, software, electrical, test and intellectual property experience in the aerospace, defense, intelligence, microelectronics and information technology fields. Jerome's expertise is in the integration of systems used to collect, analyze and report information in a wide variety of applications, ranging from aircraft performance and weapons systems, to acoustic and electromagnetic signal intercept systems, to semiconductor test, power and instrumentation systems, to intellectual property disclosure, discovery and data mining systems. Jerome is currently responsible for IBM's Intellectual Property Law information technology systems, developing new applications for managing and licensing IBM's intellectual property.
Thomas G. Ference, resides in Essex Junction, VT. Dr. Ference is a registered patent agent with the USPTO and sole member of Vermont Patent Agent, LLC. In prior employment he worked for several startup companies, including TeraComm Research, Inc. and Interphase Technologies, Inc. He also was a materials engineer at IBM for 10 years. He has licensed and sold some of his inventions and is currently co-developing several other inventions. Dr. Ference is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Ph.D. in Materials Science. He has over 40 US patents issued or pending and 13 technical publications. Dr. Ference has extensive experience in taking technologies from laboratory scale experiments to manufactured products. His interest in InventVermont is to develop a mechanism within Vermont that will better network inventors with the resources they need to commercialize their ideas.
