Vermont Bottle Sells Over 50,000 Units
May 7, 2006
Member: Faruk Piric

When Faruc Piric returned to his native Bosnia for a visit, he wanted to take along a piece of his new homeland, the State of Vermont. Maple syrup seemed a natural product to bring along as a gift, but current designs of syrup containers just didn't say "Vermont" the way he'd hoped. So he developed a gift idea that turned into a successful commercial product.

This Vermont Bottle, on the market since 2003, is a maple syrup container shaped to look like the state of Vermont. Currently in use by Butternut Mountain Farms in Morrisville, Vermont, a company that has both glass and plastic versions manufactured, the bottle has sold over 50,000 units and is continuing to grow in popularity. It seems others like the idea of taking home a product that really says "Vermont" when they've been visitors of the Green Mountain State!

What's next for this successful inventor? A bottle in the shape of the state of New Hampshire, of course, but he is also working on an educational comic strip and other exciting innovations.
