InventVermont Obtains Federal Non-Profit Status
February 11, 2005 - InventVermont was notified on February 11, 2005 that the organization has been granted by the Internal Revenue Service 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. This determination is retroactive to March 5, 2003, InventVermont's incorporation date. This tax-exempt status is important because it means that individuals and organizations that donate funds, or have donated funds after March 5, 2003, to InventVermont, can receive a federal income tax deduction for that donation. We wish to thank attorney Bob Gensburg, from St. Johnsbury, for all the time he donated pro-bono to help InventVermont acquire this status.
