Jamie T. Gallagher
Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC

Jamie T. Gallagher is an associate at Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC and works from the firm's Burlington office where he focuses his practice on intellectual property law, including patent preparation and prosecution, patent analysis and opinions, and copyright law. Jamie is a registered patent attorney and works with a wide variety of clients in diverse technology areas, including the chemical, mechanical, and computer arts. Prior to joining DRM, Jamie was an associate attorney with a Stamford, CT intellectual property law firm, where he specialized in the preparation of patent non-infringement and validity opinions, particularly in the consumer products areas. Jamie draws upon his education, background, and many experiences to assist clients with their intellectual property needs. This assistance includes preparation and prosecution of patent applications, with emphasis on chemical compositions, semiconductors, business method, software, and other computer-related inventions. He also prepares patentability, non-infringement, and validity opinions. Jamie also assists clients with trademark and copyright issues.

Jamie is a graduate of Vermont Law School and the University of Vermont. While in law school, Jamie served as technology editor for Vermont Law Review and spent a semester studying intellectual property law at Franklin Pierce Law Center. Before attending law school, Jamie worked as a high school chemistry teacher. Jamie then worked closely with high technology companies participating in the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, after which he became the director of information technology for a Vermont secondary education facility.
