Design Patents
Design patents have a place in many intellectual property portfolios. This presentation will cover the relationship between design patents, copyrights, trademarks and trade dress, and will describe the subject matter that is protectible by a design patent. In a number of respects, design patents are different than utility patents, and so these differences will be explained. The breadth of designs that may be protected will be discussed using recently issued design patents as examples.
