Pat Heffernan
Marketing Partners, Inc.

Pat Heffernan is co-president of Marketing Partners, Inc., a Burlington-based marketing, public relations and research firm specializing in educational and values-based communications for corporate and public sector clients. Pat has served as a strategic communication planning and research consultant for a wide variety of clients in the private and public sectors, including Earth Turbines, NRG Systems, Kestrel Health Information, Community National Bank, Small Dog Electronics, Vermont Butter and Cheese Company, Autumn Harp, NEOS, the Vermont Departments of Health, Children & Families, Taxes, and numerous programs on social, environmental and health issues. Pat has also served as an expert witness on public health and environmental communication programs for the Vermont Attorney General's Office.

Prior to establishing her own business in 1982, Pat served for nine years as Associate Dean at Vermont Law School. During that time, the school's nationally recognized Environmental Law Center was conceived and established. Pat has developed marketing and media plans and award-winning communications materials for public information campaigns as well as for corporate image, sales, and product promotion programs. She is a PhD candidate in communication and social change theory, and holds an MBA and a BA. Pat has also earned the designation of Certified Management Consultant (CMC).

Pat serves actively on a number of community and state boards and commissions. Her current and recent affiliations include: a founder and first president of Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility; founder and president of Women Business Owners Network of Vermont & New Hampshire; long-time member of the Governor's Commission on Women; and member of the SBA Region I Advisory Council. Pat was recognized by the S.B.A. as Vermont's Women in Business Advocate, and has served on the Vermont Economic Progress Council, on two delegations to the White House Conference on Small Business, and as a national board member of the Institute for Management Consultants.

Pat delights in the outdoors as a winter trekker, kayaker and long-distance cyclist.
