Thomas G. Ference, Ph.D.
Vermont Patent Agent, LLC

Tom Ference has been a registered patent agent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) since 2004. He is the sole member of Vermont Patent Agent, LLC. Tom works primarily with independent inventors and small companies helping them protect their intellectual property. Tom draws from his over 15 years of experience as an engineer, entrepreneur and someone who has taken several products from the idea stage to a commercial product to help you decide if a patent is the best protection for your ideas. He starts with an initial review of your needs. He then works with you to perform patent searches, write provisional and non-provisional patent applications, and prosecute your applications through the USPTO. Tom holds a B.S. degree in Physics from the University of Connecticut, and a Masters and Ph.D. in Materials Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
